Trapped in a Book

D0jktpEvery Wednesday, YA Highway asks their readership a simple question to answer on your blog. Once you answer, you link your blog in the comments for other readers to hop on board. This is Road Trip Wednesday.

Today’s question: If you could live within the universe of one book, which would you choose?

I panicked about this a little last night. I mean, there are so many to choose from. I finally narrowed it down to three.

The Dark Tower. Well, the part before it all went to pot. I’d like to live in Mejis for the country feel or Gilead for the pomp. Of course, I’d have to pull an Aline so I could do the gunslinger thing if I was in Gilead.

The Anitaverse. Vampires, lyncanthropes, zombies and more. All at your fingertips and not in hiding. It would make life very interesting.

But the number one pick for me?
The Mortal Instruments. Shadowhunters. Demons. Jace.

Stop by YA Highway and see what the others are saying. Also, tell me what book universe you would live in.

Reminder! The 99th Page Blogfest is happening on Friday. Have you signed up yet?

  1. Well, my cliché answer is Harry Potter. Not necessarily like during the Harry Potter story line, but really– who wouldn't want to be a witch or wizard? It would be pretty sweet.

But my more fantastical answer is that I would want to live in The Abarat! Ancient magic, and monsters, and creatures, 25 different islands = <3

  2. What a title, I couldn't resist.

If I were to pick a literary world, I would pick the beautiful world created by Stephen R. Donaldson, The Land. Beauty, magic, contentment and a oneness with the world and nature. Set me up with a white gold ring, and it's all over…

  3. I never really thought about that.

For some reason I just want to say the Warriors Series by Erin Hunter. I don't read it anymore, but I love cats and really enjoyed the books while I did read them!

I think it'd be fun to be a cat in a warrior clan… haha

otherwise I'd agree with Miranda on the Harry Potter thing. Because that would be pretty amazing.

  4. Okay, seriously I would be faking if I didn't say Harry Potter. I know, everyone wants to avoid saying that but I would give something huge, like a finger, toe or something to have real butterbeer and a wand that could destroy my enemies LOL! Okay, I admit, I enjoyed the Wizarding World at Universal probably more than my kids did. Great post, I'll have to join in next Wednesday:)

  5. I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't like to live in Harry Potter's universe, I think being there would be fun. (Post-Voldemort at any rate.)

But my choices, even if they seem plagued demons and such, were fueled by boys. (Roland from Wizard and Glass, some of the eye candy of the Anitaverse, JACE (who Pam and I will share.))

    Thanks for stopping by everyone!
