Covers, Posters… Same thing.

Every Wednesday, YA Highway asks their readership a simple question to answer on your blog. Once you answer, you link your blog in the comments for other readers to hop on board. This is Road Trip Wednesday.

Today’s topicWhat are your all-time favorite book covers?

I’ve talked about covers once before, but some topics just need repeating. The covers below I think would look fantastic poster-sized.

Hush, Hush, Halo, Pawn of Prophecy, Insurgent,
White Cat
, Sunrunner’s Fire, A Wrinkle in Time, City of Bones

Out of these eight, my most favorite is the Wrinkle in Time cover. I love it so much that I have a poster of it. Cliff Nielsen’s use of colors combined with the depiction of Mrs. Whatsit is breathtaking.

What book cover would you blow up to poster size?

  1. YAY INSURGENT! I love that cover, too. And HUSH HUSH is one of my faves also (even though the cover itself is like, a huge spoiler. I never quite got that. Beautiful though!)

  2. Very cool. All those covers are so epic and vast. I love A Wrinkle in Time, too.

  3. Great covers. That HUsh Hush cover grabbed me the first time I saw it. It's so fantastic!

  4. Your choices please me. 🙂 I almost included Hush, Hush, but I got tired of finding pictures, haha. I figured someone else would have me covered, and I was right. Yay!

  5. Good choices. I have Insurgent on my list too 🙂 Also, I confess I kinda love the pecs on City of Bones…

  6. Great choices. Haven't seen that cover of Wrinkle In Time…impressive.

  7. Pawn of Prophecy (and the remaining books in that series) are so amazing. It's interesting that the Belgariad is now YA. In the eighties when I read them, they were categorized "Fantasy".

They remain some of the best books I have EVER read. Nothing else comes close. Those covers are great too…although Garion looks a little too mature in my opinion that early in the story.

  8. I really like the Insurgent cover. That tree and the leaves swirling around it are great. I read A Wrinkle in Time with a different cover, which I love, too.

  9. These would make beautiful posters.
I'm drawn to Hush Hush and Halo because of the wings, I think. Halo has a wonderful glow too.

I remember picking up Sun Runner's Fire at bookstores many times because of its great cover.

I love White Cat's cover because of Holly's last name. Black. Black and white… with red. Wonderful.

  10. I agree, Insurgent has a fantastic cover. I also love Halo–that would make me pick up the book.

  11. Hush Hush is hands down one of the most gorgeous covers I've ever seen.
Also love Cassandra Clare's covers for both of her series. So pretty.
    Cool choices!

  12. Oh, how I LOVE the Insurgent cover!

    Great picks!

  13. These are beautiful, but definitely A wrinkle in time = FTW! So cool that you have it as a poster, too.

  14. Love the cover for HALO, although I haven't read it.

I think the covers on Carrie Ryan's FOREST OF HANDS AND TEETH are gorgeous, as are Maggie Stiefvater's SHIVER series. Not sure how they'd look blown up into poster-size, though.

  15. HUSH, HUSH and HALO are great choices… Angels make such striking cover images. And INSURGENT… For some reason the cover of DIVERGENT didn't do much for me, but I LOVE INSURGENT's cover!

  16. Your PAWN OF PROPHECY cover is so much cooler than mine. I'm jealous!
I would blow up Maggie Stiefvater's SHIVER, LINGER, and FOREVER and arrange them in nice frames down my hallway. So gorgeous. I haven't even read the books (yet).
I've been seeing your name all over other blogs I read that I thought I'd pop by! Have a great weekend!
